Rollin' on the River

Students were picked up at breakfast this morning to head to white water rafting.  There were home stay stories of watching soccer, playing soccer, milking cows, swimming and card games.  We also discovered that 2 of the 3 houses were too shy to have the señora do their laundry and as a result the inside of the bus smells like an animal has died here.  This on top of the surprising find that NOBODY showered at one of the houses!!!  Students have been instructed to shower before reporting to dinner this evening - and reminded that the pool is not a replacement for showering.  Gross, huh?

River rafting occurred during a monsoon!  After the safety course 3 boats proceeded 7 miles down the river and EVERY student rafted AND jumped off their boat to swim.  They were unphased by the heavy rain and were rewarded with a delicious meal alongside the river.

In the morning we head to the Venado Caves, located about 45 minutes outside of La Fortuna where we are now for 2 nights.  Students are upbeat, engaged and looking forward to some free time in La Fortuna tomorrow.
